Melih Gökçek's son and daughter-in-law released

The investigation launched ex officio by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office last week into former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek and his family regarding allegations of unregistered money transfers to companies abroad is ongoing.

Melih Gökçek, who gave his statement as a "suspect" on Friday, was followed by his son Ahmet Gökçek and daughter-in-law Hülya Gökçek, who were also summoned to testify as part of the same investigation.

Ahmet Gökçek and Hülya Gökçek arrived at the Ankara Courthouse to provide their statements as suspects.

After testifying before the duty court, Ahmet Gökçek and Hülya Gökçek were released under judicial control measures, including a travel ban.
