Melih Gökçek's assets seized: Letters sent to 55 banks
A precautionary seizure order has been issued against former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek.
Esennur Ezgi, a lawyer registered with the Istanbul Bar Association, handled Melih Gökçek's legal files for many years.
Ezgi, who represented Gökçek in his cases for a period, took the matter to court after failing to receive her legal fees.
According to a report by Halk TV, the critical decision was handed down yesterday following a legal process that lasted about 7 years.
The Istanbul 12th Civil Court of First Instance accepted Attorney Ezgi's request for a precautionary seizure.
According to the ruling, the request for a precautionary seizure was granted for the legal fees, which amount to 2.5 million including interest.
LETTERS SENT TO 55 SEPARATE BANKS
The Istanbul Enforcement Office was authorized to execute the decision issued yesterday.
Following the precautionary seizure order, letters were sent to 55 separate banks.
The Istanbul 34th Enforcement Office placed a block on Melih Gökçek's cards at two separate banks.
