Former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek’s son Ahmet Gökçek and daughter-in-law Hülya Gökçek have arrived at the Ankara Courthouse to provide statements.

The investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which is at the center of allegations in the press regarding "unregistered money transfers to companies abroad," has extended to Melih Gökçek's family following him.

In a statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was reported that Ahmet Gökçek and Hülya Gökçek were requested to be present at the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on Monday, September 7, at 14:00. It was learned that journalist Murat Ağırel had also previously been called to provide a statement as a witness within the scope of the investigation.

In the first stage of the investigation, former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek came to the Ankara Courthouse on September 4 and underwent a statement process that lasted approximately two hours. Making a brief statement to the press after his testimony, Gökçek used the following expressions:

"I have undergone numerous investigations in the past during my term as mayor, and I have given statements in all of them. I have jumped 500 times, and all of them resulted in non-prosecution. I will make a more comprehensive statement to the public once the investigation is completed."
