Memleket Party has officially closed
The Memleket Party, which went to a vote at its congress, decided to dissolve following the result of the vote at the extraordinary congress held on July 21-22, after its Chairman Muharrem İnce returned to the CHP.
İnce, who served in the CHP for many years, was the party's presidential candidate in 2018. Leaving the CHP in February 2021, İnce founded the Memleket Party in May 2021.
Having announced in recent months that he would return to the CHP, İnce presided over the Memleket Party Assembly meeting, where the decision to dissolve was taken.
İnce returned to the CHP at the group meeting on June 24 with the words of Chairman Özgür Özel: "Normally I should pin a badge on Muharrem İnce, but I will not; his badge has been pinned on his forehead since he was born."
Memleket Party Deputy Chairman Asuman Ali Güven had also announced the date when the dissolution decision would be taken.
