Memur-Sen lays wreath at Taksim
Memur-Sen arrived at Taksim Square for the May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day and laid a wreath. In a statement, they said, "As the workers, retirees, disabled individuals, women, youth, and all public servants of this country, we collectively say zero tolerance for labor exploitation."
Memur-Sen Provincial President Cesur Öztürk and the accompanying group arrived at Taksim Square for May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day and laid a wreath.
The group chanted slogans of "Long live a free Palestine."
Memur-Sen Provincial President Cesur Öztürk said, "Today, tens of thousands will gather in Samsun, and God willing, we will celebrate the Labor and Solidarity Day. Today, we symbolically laid our wreath here in Taksim. We want the bloodshed from Palestine to Syria, from Arakan to East Turkestan to stop, and for the brutality and oppression to end.
We are calling for a paradigm based on reason, conscience, and morality, for a future where faith and labor are held sacred, against a distorted order that gives humanity nothing but pain and tears. As the workers, retirees, disabled individuals, women, youth, and all public servants of this country, we collectively say zero tolerance for labor exploitation.
We emphasize our struggle and determination together for a system where the rights of labor are granted before the sweat dries, and where working conditions that make a humane life possible and are suitable for human dignity and honor are established."
