A social media post made by İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener in the middle of the night has become a talking point.
In the hearing held today for the case in which 30 people, 10 of whom were under arrest, were being tried on charges of making posts containing hate speech against refugees on social media, the court decided to release the detained defendants and lift the judicial control measures for the non-detained defendants.
Journalist Serkan Kafkas, editor of the AjansMuhbir account on social media, said in court, "When I get out of here, I will continue to make nationalist posts." After being released, Kafkas shared the message on his personal social media account: "To the relevant authority; I will continue to make 'nationalist posts'."
Quoting Kafkas's message, İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener posted, "Long live spite."
Some users commented on Akşener's post, saying, "I thought it was a fake account."
