Merdan Yanardağ thanks supporters for solidarity messages and sends a message: 'Its purpose has become clear'

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an "espionage" investigation into CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, TELE 1 Editor-in-Chief Merdan Yanardağ, and İmamoğlu's advisor and campaign director Necati Özkan.
As part of the investigation, Merdan Yanardağ was detained, and police conducted searches at his home and the TELE 1 building. Hüseyin Gün has become the key figure in the prosecutor's investigation, which uses the phrase "Ekrem İmamoğlu criminal organization."
"I KNEW I WOULD NOT BE LEFT ALONE"
Merdan Yanardağ held a meeting with his lawyer, Bilgütay Durna. According to a report in BirGün, Durna stated that Yanardağ is in good health and high spirits, adding, "He expressed his gratitude for the solidarity actions and visits. He sent his regards. He said, 'I knew I would not be left alone.' He also commented on the trustee appointment decision by saying, 'The true purpose of the operation has become clear.' He reiterated that he does not accept the accusations."
