Message from arrested Çiğdem Bayraktar Ör: 'In the rule of law and justice'
Academic Dr. Çiğdem Bayraktar Ör was arrested on Friday by the duty magistrate to whom she was referred on charges of 'insulting the President' and 'insulting a public official due to their duty.' Ör sent a message to her followers via her social media account.
The Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation on Thursday regarding a post published by Çiğdem Bayraktar Ör on the social media platform X.
She was subsequently detained by teams from the Security Branch Directorate.
After the procedures there, the academic was taken to the Anatolian Courthouse, where she gave her statement to the prosecutor and was referred to the duty criminal judgeship of peace with a request for her arrest on charges of “insulting the President.”
The court she was brought before decided to arrest her on the charge of "insulting the President."
A MESSAGE FROM ÇİĞDEM BAYRAKTAR ÖR
Just like Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, the arrested Çiğdem Bayraktar Ör also sent a message to her followers and loved ones via her social media account. In her post, Ör gave the message, 'I trust in the rule of law and justice.'

I am being held in the Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison. I trust in the rule of law and justice. I believe that the Turkish judiciary will make the most correct decision.
