Message from Mansur Yavaş regarding Gençlerbirliği and Ankaragücü
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş shared a message regarding Gençlerbirliği, which has been promoted to the Süper Lig, and Ankaragücü, which has been relegated.
Competing in the 1st League, Gençlerbirliği finished the season in second place, returning to the Süper Lig after 4 years. The capital's other representative, Ankaragücü, became the final team to be relegated due to a three-way goal difference, despite defeating Amedspor in the final match of the league.
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who shared a post regarding the two teams, stated, "Today, the capital is experiencing two emotions at once: both joy and sorrow. Our Gençlerbirliği, the red-and-black of our Ankara and one of the two plane trees of our Republic, has returned today to the Süper Lig, the place it deserves. We are proud. Our other legacy of the Republic, our İmalat-ı Harbiye, Ankaragücü, is in a place it does not deserve today. We know that even if we are sad today, the spirit of İmalat-ı Harbiye will return to where it deserves to be. We will always stand by them."
