Message from Pervin Buldan for Sırrı Süreyya Önder
As a historic threshold is crossed in the PKK's disarmament process, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who was part of the Imralı delegation and passed away recently, has become one of the prominent figures of the process. Pervin Buldan said, "A future where young people do not die lies ahead of us. May peace be your gift."
The resolution process initiated by the government with the goal of a "Terror-Free Turkey" evolved into a new dimension following the call by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, and subsequently, the expected "disarmament" call from the PKK came through contacts held by the DEM Party's Imralı delegation with terrorist Abdullah Öcalan. As of today, it has been reported that the terrorist organization PKK will surrender its weapons in a symbolic ceremony to be held in Sulaymaniyah.
DEM Party MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who served actively in the Imralı talks from the beginning of the resolution process, had passed away due to a heart condition before the process concluded.
"THERE IS NOW A FUTURE WHERE YOUNG PEOPLE DO NOT DIE"
DEM Party Van MP Pervin Buldan, who served on the Imralı delegation alongside Sırrı Süreyya Önder, commemorated Önder with a post on social media today. Buldan stated the following:
"A blessed Friday. I know you are watching, you see, and you are happy and at peace. Rest in peace, comrade Sırrı. Today, the weapons will be surrendered. There is now a future ahead of us where young people do not die and mothers do not cry. May peace be your gift."
