Mesut Özarslan, who joined the AKP: Our doors were wide open, and they will continue to be open from now on
Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan, who resigned from the CHP and joined the AK Party, stated, "As we serve our Keçiören, we will walk together, taking the strength, prayers, and hard work of our organization. Just as our doors were wide open to everyone in the past, they will continue to be open from now on."
Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan, who resigned from the CHP on Sunday, February 8, and joined the AKP after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pinned the party badge on him, met with organization members at the AKP Keçiören District Headquarters.
In his statement, Özarslan said that they would start a new era for Keçiören under the AKP umbrella. Stating that they are embarking on a new journey of service and success under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Özarslan said, "As of today, we are experiencing the honor and pride of being under this roof with you, under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the architect of the Century of Turkey. We are currently writing the first letters and first lines of a brand-new success story here with my district head, the organizations of our beautiful-hearted district, the council members, and the noble people of the pure-hearted, great Turkish nation of Keçiören."
"Our doors will be open"
Stating that a strong city vision can only be realized through common effort and solidarity, Özarslan said, "We will carry out the plans and programs to build Ankara after a completely different Keçiören together with the beautiful organizations of our party. We have always believed that politics is not a path to be walked alone. Especially when it comes to Keçiören, the heart of Ankara with a population of 1 million, shouldering this burden is only possible with the steel-like organizations we have here. And so it will be. As we serve our Keçiören, we will walk together, taking the strength, prayers, and hard work of our organization. Just as our doors were wide open to everyone in the past, they will continue to be open from now on."
"We will be one, we will be united, we will work on the path of justice for the people"
Stating that they have a single philosophy, Özarslan said, "That philosophy is service to the people, municipalism of service to the people, and it will not create any other thought. We have not forgotten this. As Turkey, remember an Istanbul that was entrusted to us by our ancestor Fatih Sultan Mehmet Han. It was in filth. They couldn't find water. The immorality in people's living standards and the city's urban aesthetics had almost been razed to the ground. If the son of Turkey, the current world leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, emerged and turned that Istanbul into a paradise, we will continue that same vision. We will be one. We will be united. We will work on the path of justice for the people."
When asked about the projects to be implemented after joining the AKP, Özarslan replied, "We have reached almost 50 percent of the 60 projects. Within the other 50 percent of the projects, there are urban transformation projects that concern our city. With God's permission, we will have brought urban transformation to Keçiören."
Following his statements at the AKP Keçiören District Headquarters, Özarslan met with citizens in front of the municipal building and held a rally.
