Mesut Yar learns of the operation during Habertürk live broadcast! 'I have to announce it...'
Mesut Yar, host of the program 'Gün Başlıyor' (The Day Begins) on Habertürk, announced the operation targeting Can Holding with the words: “The SDIF has seized Can Holding and the companies that own this place. I have no other information beyond this.”
The Istanbul Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office conducted an operation against Can Holding on charges of establishing a criminal organization, smuggling, fraud, and money laundering.
Within the scope of the investigation, detention warrants were issued for 10 people, including Can Holding executives Mehmet Şakir Can, Kemal Can, and Kenan Tekdağ.
The SDIF (Savings Deposit Insurance Fund) has seized 121 companies affiliated with Can Holding, including Habertürk, Show TV, HT Spor, and Bloomberg HT.
Habertürk presenter Mesut Yar said the following regarding the operation during the live broadcast:
“This is the most interactive television program on Habertürk. I cannot leave your questions unanswered. In my 41-year professional career, I have never skipped anything.
We just started broadcasting it in the subtitle. The SDIF (Savings Deposit Insurance Fund) has seized Can Holding and the companies that own this place.
I don't know anything beyond this. I will share it piece by piece. I am facing the questions coming from you. I don't know anything other than what you read in the subtitle. I am in the middle of the broadcast.”
