Meteorological alert from AFAD: Warning for 35 provinces, 18,705 personnel in the field

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has announced that measures have been increased in provinces where the General Directorate of Meteorology has issued orange and yellow code warnings.

According to AFAD's statement, an orange code warning was issued for 13 provinces and a yellow code warning for 22 provinces. It was stated that efforts are being carried out within the scope of the Turkey Disaster Response Plan (TAMP) to ensure that adverse weather conditions do not turn into disasters or emergency situations.

It was stated that the necessary information and warnings have been conveyed to the governorships of the provinces within the scope of the alert via message, e-mail, and telephone, and that developments are being closely monitored.

STATEMENT FROM AFAD

In our provinces under meteorological warning, a total of 18,705 personnel and 8,696 vehicles from our relevant institutions and organizations are on duty on a 24/7 basis. As of now, 514 reports have been received, and all reports have been addressed by our relevant teams within the scope of the Turkey Disaster Response Plan.

The AFAD Presidency also reported that assignments at the department head level have been made to support the ongoing efforts and to ensure inter-institutional coordination.

In the statement, while conveying get-well wishes to citizens affected by the adverse weather conditions, a call was made to follow meteorological warnings, comply with the announcements of the authorities, and adhere to the measures taken.
