Meteorology expert Mehmet Özdemirci stated that temperatures will rise above seasonal norms and issued a warning, particularly for the midday hours.
General Directorate of Meteorology weather forecasting expert Mehmet Özdemirci stated that air temperatures will rise above seasonal norms in many regions in the coming days and called on citizens to be careful.
Özdemirci reported that no widespread or heavy precipitation is expected across the country and that the weather will generally be partly to mostly clear. It was stated that intermittent precipitation may be seen in the inland parts of Ordu and Giresun on Friday, in the southern parts of Burdur and Denizli on Saturday, and in the vicinity of Trabzon and Rize over the weekend.
In his assessment regarding temperatures, Özdemirci said that values 1 to 3 degrees above seasonal norms are expected in the northern parts, and 3 to 4 degrees above in the southern regions. Özdemirci said, "We do not have a heavy precipitation event, we do not have an extreme situation."
However, drawing attention to the hours when the hot weather will be particularly effective, Özdemirci stated, "We want people, especially the elderly and children, to be careful about going outside, particularly between 12:00 and 16:00."
The meteorology expert also noted that strong winds from northern directions are expected in the Marmara region and the southeast of Eastern Anatolia on Friday, emphasizing that citizens should take precautions in this regard.
Temperatures are also expected to rise in major cities. While no precipitation is expected in Istanbul for three days, daytime temperatures are forecast to hover around 30-31 degrees. In Ankara, the temperature is expected to rise to 33 degrees on Friday, 34 on Saturday, and 35 degrees on Sunday. In Izmir, the weather will be mostly clear and sunny; temperatures are estimated to be around 35 degrees on Friday and Saturday, and approximately 36 degrees on Sunday.
