Meteorology Issues Warning: Heavy rain is on the way
The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced that haze and fog will be effective across the country. While light showers are expected in the vicinity of Istanbul and Balıkesir, there is a risk of avalanches in the interior parts of Eastern Anatolia and the Eastern Black Sea region. Strong winds will be effective along the coasts of the Marmara and North Aegean regions.
According to the latest weather forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology, partly cloudy weather will prevail in the western parts of Turkey as well as in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions. While light showers are expected in Istanbul and Balıkesir, icing and frost events will occur in the eastern provinces. Additionally, there is a risk of avalanches in the interior parts of the Eastern Black Sea region and on the high and sloping hillsides of Eastern Anatolia.
Air temperatures are expected to continue to hover above seasonal norms across the country. The wind will generally blow from southern directions at light to moderate strength. However, the wind is expected to increase in speed and blow strongly (40-60 km/h) in the west of the Marmara region and along the North Aegean coasts.

Marmara Region
Partly to very cloudy weather will prevail across the region. While light showers are expected in the vicinity of Istanbul and Balıkesir, haze and fog will be effective in the southern parts during the morning and night hours. The wind is expected to blow strongly from southern directions in Western Marmara.
Aegean Region
In the Aegean, where partly and slightly cloudy weather will prevail, light showers may be seen in the northern parts of İzmir. Haze and fog will be effective in the interior regions. The wind is expected to blow strongly from southern directions in the North Aegean.
Mediterranean Region
Partly and slightly cloudy weather will be seen across the region. Haze and local fog will be effective in the interior parts during the morning and night hours.
Central Anatolia Region
While partly and slightly cloudy weather is expected across the region, haze and fog will be seen during the morning and night hours.
Western Black Sea Region
While partly and slightly cloudy weather is expected, haze and local fog will be effective across the region during the morning and night hours.
Central and Eastern Black Sea Region
Partly and slightly cloudy weather will prevail. While haze and fog will be effective across the region during the morning and night hours, there is an avalanche risk in the interior parts of the Eastern Black Sea region.
Eastern Anatolia Region
Partly and slightly cloudy weather is expected across the region. Icing and frost events may occur during the morning and night hours. Additionally, there is an avalanche danger in high and sloping areas.
Southeastern Anatolia Region
While partly and slightly cloudy weather is expected, haze and fog will be effective across the region during the morning and night hours.
