Meteorology issues warning: Strong winds expected in and around Istanbul
The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has reported that northerly winds will blow strongly in Istanbul, Thrace, Kocaeli, and Yalova on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1.
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a strong wind warning for Istanbul and its surrounding areas. According to the statement from the MGM İstanbul Regional Forecast and Early Warning Center, winds are expected to blow from the north at speeds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1.
Within the scope of the warning, strong winds are forecast for Thrace, as well as Istanbul, Kocaeli, Yalova, and the western parts of Bursa. It was also reported that in Balıkesir and Çanakkale, the winds could be strong and occasionally reach the intensity of short-term storms.

According to the MGM's assessment, the strong winds continuing to affect the northwestern regions are also expected to blow from the north as strong and occasionally short-term storms in İzmir and Manisa on Friday, July 31.
Authorities emphasized that citizens should be careful and take precautions against potential negative consequences such as transportation disruptions, roof damage, and similar issues caused by the strong winds and short-term storms.
