Meters of trash in Bartın! Ministry launches investigation
An investigation has been launched in Bartın after a wild landfill site, where solid waste is collected, reached capacity, causing trash to spill onto the road. The garbage accumulated at the site on the hill above the İnkumu holiday resort in Karasu village has formed piles along approximately 1 kilometer of the road.
Due to the saturation of the wild landfill site located on the hill above the İnkumu holiday resort in Karasu village—where waste collected from the city center, 8 municipalities including districts and towns, and the Provincial Special Administration is dumped—piles of trash have formed along the approximately 1-kilometer road providing access to the area.

It was observed that the road leading to Boğaz Neighborhood was blocked and that liquids leaking from the trash piles, which reached as far as the Bartın River area, were mixing with the river through rainwater.

The Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has launched an investigation following complaints from citizens regarding the site, where approximately 150 tons of trash are transported daily.

The pollution in the area, where efforts are underway to clear the road by moving the trash to the edges with the help of heavy machinery, was also captured from the air.
