Metin Cihan alleges 'trade with Israel continues': It leaves our customs as Palestine, becomes Israel on the way

Protests against the AKP government were on the agenda before the local elections due to the continuation of trade with Israel.

After the AKP suffered a defeat in the March 31 Local Elections, the Ministry of Trade announced that restrictions had been imposed on exports to Israel. The Ministry later announced that the export restriction would be applied to all export and import products.

Journalist Metin Cihan wrote that trade between Turkey and Israel continues in a way that cannot be detected in the data. Cihan said, "It is recorded as Palestine when leaving our customs. It is changed to Israel on the way." he stated.

"We were sending fuel and industrial raw materials to Israel. When this came to light, we supposedly cut off trade and stopped sending them... or did we? Look, what kind of scheme are we using to send them?

A commission is paid to a company established in Palestine for this business. The commission companies are either Israeli collaborators or already owned by Israelis.

The amount of exports from Turkey to Israel appears to have been completely cut off in our official records, but Israel's imports from Turkey do not appear to have been cut off in official records. This inconsistency also stems from the same scheme. Because when the ship leaves Turkey, the buyer is recorded as Palestine, but it is changed to Israel on the way. Turkey and Israel are collusively continuing trade in this way. Palestine, which is being burned, destroyed, and massacred, is being used as a tool in this trade.

While even our sending of food and medicine to Palestine is being blocked/restricted by Israel, the reason why our fuel and industrial raw material exports have increased by 1214.47% on paper and reached approximately 13.14 times the previous amount is precisely this.
