Metro Istanbul announces: Some metro and funicular lines to be closed ahead of Pride March

Metro Istanbul has announced that, in accordance with the decision taken by the Istanbul Governor's Office, some metro and funicular lines will be temporarily closed starting from 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 29.

It was stated that the restrictions will remain in effect until further notice.

Closed lines announced

In a statement made on Metro Istanbul's official social media accounts, it was stated that the following stations would be closed to service for security and public order reasons:

M2 Yenikapı–Hacıosman Metro Line:

– Taksim and Şişhane stations

M7 Yıldız–Mahmutbey Metro Line:

– Fulya and Yıldız stations

(Services will continue between Mecidiyeköy and Mahmutbey.)

F1 Taksim–Kabataş Funicular Line:

– The entire line will be closed to service.

Metro Istanbul reported that trains on the M2 line will continue their journeys without stopping at Taksim and Şişhane stations, and that operations on the M7 line will continue except for the Yıldız and Fulya stops.
