Metropoll survey asks 'Who do you want to see at the head of the CHP?': AKP and MHP voters pointed to that name

According to Metropoll Research's June 2025 "Pulse of Turkey" survey, in the choice between Özgür Özel and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu for the CHP leadership, the preference of People's Alliance voters leaned toward Kılıçdaroğlu.

40.3 percent of voters who cast ballots for the AKP in the May 14, 2023, parliamentary elections and 51.6 percent of those who voted for the MHP stated that they preferred Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu for the CHP leadership. The support rates for Özgür Özel among the same voter groups were 18.3 percent (AKP) and 22.6 percent (MHP), respectively.

While 79.4 percent of voters who cast ballots for the CHP want Özgür Özel to be the CHP Chairman, 8.1 percent preferred Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. The support rate for Kılıçdaroğlu remained low within his own party.

In the overall total, 44 percent of participants preferred Özgür Özel and 25.8 percent preferred Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, while 30.2 percent stated that they either had no opinion or did not wish to answer.

The research, conducted between June 16-19, 2025, was carried out with 1,251 people in 26 provinces using the CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) method. The general margin of error for the research was announced as +/- 2.71.
