MHP calls on Tuğrul Türkeş to 'give up' following his remarks

Describing Türkeş's statements regarding Osman Kavala as 'nonsense,' MHP's Yalçın reacted harshly to these words from the AKP MP in a message he sent to the program 'Doğru Yorum' with Başak Şengül on tv100.

Yalçın's message is as follows:

"HIS INAPPROPRIATE STANCE IN POLITICS"

Ms. Başak, Yıldırım Tuğrul Bey is constantly damaging the surname he carries with his nonsense statements. His inappropriate stance in politics is built upon distorting the truth, shallowing ideas, and stripping the concept of a cause of its principles.

Tuğrul Efendi has now said that he will visit Osman Kavala, who is imprisoned in the Gezi Case. Moreover, he has completely rambled by saying, "This is true nationalism, patriotism... This is the nationalism I was taught."

No matter which part of this insolent statement you try to correct, it falls apart in your hands. Does a person not benefit even a tiny bit from their father's cause, his spiritual and intellectual legacy?

"VISITING KAVALA IS NOT NATIONALISM"

Visiting a notorious criminal who is a tool and subcontractor for circles hostile to Turkishness, a registered opponent of the Turkish nationalist cause, and who was convicted for acting together with separatists who rebelled against the state during the Gezi Park Protests; not only makes our late leader's bones ache, but also stains his surname and his political legacy. Visiting Kavala is not nationalism.

On the contrary, it is humiliation; it is lack of nationality, lack of principles, and lack of character. It is direct support for separatist and Marxist actions and hostility toward Turks.

We invite Tuğrul Türkeş to give up on his attempt, which will please the enemies of Turkishness and will mean "I approve of your actions" from Kavala's perspective.

TÜRKEŞ: "THIS IS TRUE NATIONALISM"

AKP Ankara MP Tuğrul Türkeş, who represents Turkey at the Council of Europe, had said that he would visit businessman Osman Kavala, who is imprisoned in the Gezi Park case, at some point, and used the expressions, "I will have seen Osman Kavala for the first time during that visit. This is true nationalism, patriotism. This is the nationalism I was taught."
