MHP candidate had won: AKP wins in re-run election
According to unofficial results in the re-run election in the town of Güneykaya in Sivas, AKP candidate Hüseyin Kırışkuzu has won.
The Supreme Election Council (YSK) decided to re-run the election in the town of Güneykaya, which is attached to the district, due to a brawl that occurred during the March 31 Local Administration Elections.
Early in the morning, the townspeople went to the polls to cast their votes at 5 ballot boxes set up at Güneykaya Anatolian High School, entering the booths with their ballots starting at 08:00.
Voting for the 1,140 voters in the town ended at 17:00.
The vote counting process in the town of Güneykaya has been completed. According to unofficial results, AKP candidate Hüseyin Kırışkuzu received 556 votes and became the town's new mayor.
In the March 31 local elections, MHP candidate Hasan Erçoban had received 51.47 percent of the vote.
