MHP's Feti Yıldız objects to absolute nullity ruling: 'It is impossible to implement'

Political debates continue following the ruling by the 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice, which ordered the interim removal of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and the current party administration from office in the CHP convention case, and ruled that former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his team should take over the duties.

Following the widespread public reaction to the decision, MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız also made a notable statement on the matter.

“It is impossible to apply the Civil Code and the Law on Associations”

Feti Yıldız, who serves as the MHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Legal and Election Affairs, made assessments regarding the legal framework to be applied in the election processes of political parties.

Yıldız used the following expressions in his statement:

"While paragraph 11 of Article 21 of the Political Parties Law No. 2820 exists, it is impossible to apply the Civil Code and the Law on Associations. The jurisdiction of the Civil Court of First Instance relates to the proceedings of the general assembly up to the election agenda item."
