MHP Kocaeli MP Saffet Sancaklı has resigned

MHP's Saffet Sancaklı had stated, "If they don't give at least one municipality to the MHP this term, they won't see me in the election campaign in Kocaeli. The People's Alliance will lose at least 4-5 municipalities in Kocaeli."

BAHÇELİ HAD REACTED

Bahçeli responded to this statement by referring to Saffet Sancaklı's football career.

Reacting to Sancaklı, who played for Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, and Galatasaray, Bahçeli said, "Does he want to continue the tradition of playing for the 3 big clubs in his football life in politics as well? The choice is his!"

"SANCAKLI'S RESIGNATION HAS BEEN REQUESTED"

Following Bahçeli's reaction to Sancaklı, MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın announced that Sancaklı's resignation had been requested.

Making a statement on his social media account, Yalçın had said, "Kocaeli MP Saffet Sancaklı's resignation from the Nationalist Movement Party has been requested. Respectfully announced to the public."

HE RESIGNED

Saffet Sancaklı announced that he had resigned on his social media account.

Sancaklı included the following statements in his post:

"I am resigning from my membership in the Nationalist Movement Party, of which I am honored to be a member, in line with the instructions of our esteemed Chairman, with the aim of keeping the People's Alliance and our Party away from all kinds of slander and speculation during the local election process.

On this occasion; I declare that my loyalty to the Nationalist Movement Party and our leader, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, will continue uncompromisingly, and I present my respects to the public."

Mensubu olmaktan şeref duyduğum Milliyetçi Hareket Partisi üyeliğinden; yerel seçim sürecinde Cumhur İttifakını ve Partimizi her türlü tezvirat ve spekülasyondan uzak tutmak gayesiyle, Sayın Genel Başkanımızın talimatı doğrultusunda istifa ediyorum.
