First statement from MHP leader Bahçeli following the 'call': 'Gratifying'

A world picture with damaged stability and shackled will stands before us with all its risks and uncertainties.

The means by which the global political equation with many unknowns will be solved, and what its end and consequences will be even if it is solved, are unknown; it is also a complex enigma that requires deep thought. Geopolitical rivalries, economic standoffs, and strategic confrontations, which are spreading simultaneously with the rising threshold of moral, spiritual, and legal crises, are constantly gaining new ground and taking on different dimensions.

In such a chaotic environment and conditions, a historic window of opportunity has been opened for Turkey. Our civilization's heritage, of which we are the heirs, and our cherished national existence are our sole guarantees against regional and global threats. The Turkish nation has made the Anatolian geography its home for a thousand years. Of course, heavy prices have been paid during this thousand-year process.

The beloved homeland, which is the honor of our destiny and the symbol of our sacred values, has also found its true meaning and content through the unity and brotherhood of the human essence living upon it. It has been registered and documented by the witness of centuries that we are not temporary, nomadic, periodic tenants, or visitors in the Anatolian geography.

The Turkish nation is the sum and the pride of a massive brotherhood consciousness with deep roots. The many pains experienced to date have not been able to cast a shadow over the belief and desire to live together. The malicious games of global imperialism have been thwarted by the unparalleled determination of national solidarity.

Every one of our people who gives blood, color, spirit, and body to the Turkish nation has become a soldier of a noble embrace that concentrates far above partial regional, linguistic, and cultural differences. The Republic of Turkey has been fighting against the separatist terrorist organization PKK since 1984.

This struggle is just, legitimate, legal, and, of course, worthy of the highest level of appreciation and respect.

Finally, in the new century, the dawn of a Turkey without terrorism has arrived, and thus, the sunrise of national peace and tranquility is near. The statement read to the public by the DEM delegation on February 27, 2025, and penned in İmralı, is valuable and important from beginning to end.

The PKK terrorist organization, which aimed to establish a greater Kurdistan within a Marxist-Leninist framework by holding its first congress in Fis Village of Lice District in Diyarbakır on November 27, 1978, has been called upon by its founding leader to dissolve its organizational structure 47 years later. The statements made from Qandil are supportive and complementary to this call, and indeed, they are gratifying.

The fact that the ringleaders of the PKK terrorist organization in Qandil are rallying around İmralı and embracing the February 27 call is an organizational consistency at this stage we have reached, and it is to everyone's benefit. Achieving results through terrorism is a vain dream.

Tolerating the sabotaging and meddling with Turkish-Kurdish brotherhood is from now on both impossible, and pursuing such a mistake is a futile thought. The call has been made to all components of the separatist organization; adherence to it and its success will add strength to Turkey's power in the new century, and will make the thousand-year brotherhood both more agile and stronger on the other hand.

The Nationalist Movement Party is grateful on behalf of the noble Turkish nation to anyone who makes a sincere contribution to the goal of a Turkey without terrorism and who supports the democratization process without preconditions. The efforts of some ill-intentioned people nested in the media to smear the February 27 call and to undermine the steps toward peace and tranquility are an insidious plot.

I want it to be known that those who strive to dilute the longing for a Turkey without terrorism and to muddy the environment of cautious optimism are subcontracted, anti-national mentalities that carry water to the mill of separatism and profit from the continuation of terrorism's bloody attacks.

It is not possible to speak of the innocence and reasonableness of those who wrinkle their faces by bringing the questions of 'What was given? What was taken?' to the agenda and who disrupt the positive climate. The source of exploitation for those who are afraid because the PKK will dissolve itself will dry up, and Turkey will embark on a magnificent awakening on the route of the new century.

By paying maximum attention to provocations, remaining vigilant against the incitements of marginalized groups, and intervening in a timely and prepared manner in the scenarios of countries that have eyes and targets in our neighboring regions, the doors of a period surrounded by violence and betrayal will be closed, never to be opened again. It is essential not to compromise on the fight against terrorism.

Without falling into the absurd traps of heroism set by circles that are intellectually, emotionally, mentally, and conscientiously dried up and rotten to the point of not knowing that the state will not negotiate, the Turkish and Turkish Century will be established and secured through cooperation and unity of power. The Turkish nation is writing a new history. There will never be a place for opponents of the homeland and the nation on these pages of history.

I once again celebrate the holy month of Ramadan for our beloved nation and the Turkish-Islamic world, and I pray to the Almighty to always preserve our unity, integrity, and brotherhood. A Turkey without terrorism, a peaceful Turkey, and a superpower Turkey is not a goal for tomorrow, but one to be reached immediately, and it is entrusted to our political honor."
