MHP Leader Bahçeli's 'do not certify the league' message to Hacıosmanoğlu: Match-fixing and betting investigations

It is stated that with the message he sent, Bahçeli recommended that relegation be abolished for this season only, citing the 'match-fixing and betting' operations conducted throughout the year, and that the Süper Lig be played with 21 teams next year.

Following the matches played last weekend, Antalyaspor became the final team to be relegated from the Süper Lig. The first objection to Fatih Karagümrük SK, Kayserispor, and Antalyaspor competing in the Trendyol 1. Lig next year came from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli. 

CALL TO TFF PRESIDENT: 'DO NOT CERTIFY THE LEAGUE' 

Journalist Sinan Burhan, who is close to the government, announced during a live broadcast on tv100 that a message was sent by Bahçeli to TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu saying, 'do not certify the leagues.' 

It was alleged that Bahçeli recommended that 'relegation' be abolished for this year only due to the 'match-fixing and betting in football' investigations launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office throughout the year, and that he requested the Süper Lig be played with 21 teams next year. 

A similar request was also voiced in an official statement made by Kayserispor, which asked that relegation not be implemented this season due to the operations. 

TFF WILL MAKE THE DECISION 

As per procedure, the TFF will place the certification of the leagues on its agenda at a meeting to be held in the last week of May or the first week of June.
