MHP official makes new list statement, recalling 154 people: 'The time to be held accountable will come'

Journalist Barış Terkoğlu had stated that the MHP, which requested to participate in the Sinan Ateş case as a "party harmed by the crime," had submitted a petition to the court requesting that 154 people be summoned.

Among the names the MHP requested to be heard are CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, Future Party (Gelecek Partisi) Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) Chairman Ümit Özdağ, DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan, TİP Chairman Erkan Baş, as well as numerous journalists, legal experts, and academics.

MHP submitted a list to the court for the Sinan Ateş case; it targeted 154 names ranging from politicians to journalists, legal experts to academics.

Lawyer Dilek Ekmekçi, who had previously filed a criminal complaint against certain individuals holding management positions in the MHP and the Ülkü Ocakları (Idealist Hearths) on charges of having roles in the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları Chairman Sinan Ateş and threatening him, was arrested on charges of "insulting a public official" and "slander."

Recalling Ekmekçi's arrest, Özdemir said, "An individual who attacked the MHP and the Ülkü Ocakları with all sorts of slanders over a heinous murder, whose affiliation with FETÖ has been exposed, and who used the virtuous profession of law as a front, has been arrested by judicial authorities to be held accountable before the law.

As for the so-called journalists who specifically brought this individual onto the screens of KRT, Tele 1, and Halk TV and tried to legitimize her, aside from your contact and relationship networks with this same FETÖ-affiliated individual, the time for you to be held accountable before the law will certainly come," he said.

Stating, "The new guises you have assumed, your efforts to leave, for example, Halk TV and change screens in one fell swoop upon instruction are in vain," Özdemir added, "What you are doing and who you are in contact with is obvious. For this reason, you will definitely be held accountable before the law. It will be seen more clearly then what your real agenda is, who is opening space for you, and who is protecting you."

Stating that "there are those who act with the same mentality as the 154 people," İsmail Özdemir continued as follows:

"Our work continues regarding those who target the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the Ülkü Ocakları, attack the people of our pure cause, and who, in addition to the 154 people we previously identified and who made all sorts of baseless accusations on screens, act with the same mentality in newspaper columns.

All of our work regarding these individuals will turn into legal action the moment our Chairman gives his approval, as he has previously announced. We will protect the rights and laws of our sacred cause and our honorable members of the cause to the end. None of those who target our party and the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) with insidious games as guided or influential elements of FETÖ will be able to escape appearing before the law."
