New 'right to hope' statement from MHP's Yıldız: The path for its use will be opened
MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız discussed execution regulations during a live broadcast, and further stated that the 'right to hope' would be exercised if the conditions are met.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had stated at his party's group meeting regarding İmralı, "If no one else goes, I will take 3 of my friends with me, and I will not hesitate to go to İmralı with my own means and come face-to-face at a table."
MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız had said earlier today, "On Friday, November 21, the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission will take a decision to go to İmralı Island."
While everyone has turned their attention to the voting meeting to be held on Friday, a new statement has come from MHP's Feti Yıldız.
MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız said the following during his appearance on the Bengü Türk broadcast:
"A visit to İmralı will take place, yes, I am saying this clearly. We believe that any party that will not participate or will not provide a member to the delegation should share its reasons with the public before Friday.
The issue of whether or not to go to İmralı is not a topic of this week; it has been on the agenda for 3 weeks. As group leaders, we have been holding meetings on this matter under the chairmanship of the Parliament Speaker. A consensus was finally reached. In other words, it was said let's hold the vote on Friday, and it will be held. A two-thirds majority is required for the vote. This number is currently sufficient, with the AK Party, DEM, MHP, and other parties that have groups. Considering that the CHP is yet to meet and decide tomorrow, the number of the other parties is sufficient for this.
Therefore, when I was asked, I spoke clearly that the decision would be to go. Without dragging it out too much, within a few days, a visit will be made to İmralı Island, the statements of the founder of the terrorist organization will be taken, what he has to say will be listened to, and then we will return. What we will do here is limited to taking the final statements on this matter from a person who has managed a terrorist organization for 45 years, in an environment where we listen to everyone. There will be no bargaining or similar things involving giving and taking on any subject by going there."
In the same program, Yıldız said the following regarding 'execution regulations' and the 'right to hope':
“There is not the slightest difference of opinion between the MHP and the AK Party regarding a Turkey without terrorism. It would not be appropriate for me to say something in advance. Of course, there will be a regulation. As we have said from the beginning, an execution regulation is necessary. The 'right to hope' that our leader mentioned, conditional upon certain terms, will have its path opened for use when those conditions are 100 percent met.”
