MHP's Adan reacts to AKP deputies: 'Where are you going? It's shameful'
Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and MHP member Celal Adan turned to the AKP benches, which were emptying again after a quorum check in the General Assembly, and said, "Where are you going, friends? Don't leave. We are taking a break every 15 minutes. It's shameful."
A quorum crisis occurred in the TBMM General Assembly during the deliberations on the Climate Law proposal.
Following frequent requests for quorum checks and sufficient numbers by opposition parties, and the subsequent 15-minute breaks due to the absence of AKP deputies in the hall, Deputy Speaker of the TBMM Celal Adan expressed his frustration with the AKP deputies.
Turning to the AKP deputies who were leaving the hall after the quorum check, Adan warned, "Where are you going, friends? Don't leave. We are taking a break every 15 minutes. It's shameful. We are exhausted from you coming in and out, please don't do this. Dear deputies, the opposition group deputy chairs have stated that they will occasionally request a quorum for decisions and meetings. Therefore, let's follow the proceedings. Of course, you have work outside, but let's complete this proposal. They surely have things to do, but they should show sensitivity regarding this matter."
