MHP's Yalçın calls Özel the 'doyen of degradation' over remarks about his son

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in his speech at his party's group meeting, said, "The husband of the Minister of Family, Rahmi Göktaş, and MHP Istanbul Deputy Semih Yalçın's son, Abdullah Kutalmış Yalçın, resigned and fled before an investigation was opened, in order to escape the judiciary immediately after the criminal complaint.

When that happens, you are cleared. You come out as clean as a whistle.

No one is after Semih Yalçın's son or the minister's husband in the judicial authorities or investigative bodies. Except for a few honest journalists and you and us who object to this, they spoke as if 'Well, they resigned, they are not responsible'."

MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın responded harshly to what Özel said at the group meeting.

“HE HAS RESIGNED”

MHP's Yalçın included the following statements in a post on his social media account:

“My son, Abdullah Kutalmış Yalçın, has resigned for the sake of the integrity of the investigation. There is no investigation or inquiry opened against him. This is a requirement of conscientious, moral, and bureaucratic responsibility; it is a duty so that the judiciary can perform its task comfortably.

While this is the case, Özgür Özel targeting my son by mentioning my name directly is a vile and filthy style of politics that does not fit human dignity or honor.

In the past, some scoundrels and political remnants have attempted to splash mud on me using similar methods over my late younger son, Turan İlteber Yalçın.

I strongly condemn Özgür Özel, who has taken political struggle off its rails and extended it to our sacred values, our families, and our children, and I leave him to the judgment of our noble nation.

While my son, A. Kutalmış Yalçın, whom Özgür Özel immorally and shamelessly keeps in his mouth, contributes to the functioning of the law with a responsible and commendable action, why have the mayors of CHP-run municipalities, which are rocked by corruption, not been able to display the same honorable stance?

Why has Özgür Özel not demanded the resignation of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and other mayors for the sake of the integrity of the investigation by showing a supposedly honorable stance?

The doyen of degradation, Özgür Özel, should know that the filthy politics he wants to pursue through our sacred values, our families, and our children will be the end of both himself and his party.”
