MHP's Yıldız, whose amnesty post was alleged to contain a message for Öcalan, speaks out: 'There is a way for amnesty'

While the political agenda is debating the Imralı delegation and the 7 points it brought, the issue of PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan being released to house arrest is also being discussed. It is alleged that the posts made from time to time by MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız regarding convicts are also intended to prepare the ground for this issue.

Journalist Barış Pehlivan shared the details of his conversation with MHP's Feti Yıldız during a live broadcast on Halktv and stated that he asked Yıldız whether there was an amnesty study for Öcalan behind his latest post.

Here is MHP's Yıldız's social media post dated January 5:

"If the execution of a prison sentence poses a definite danger to the life of the prisoner, the suspension of the execution until recovery should not be a matter of debate.

As stated in Human Rights Conventions and Article 17 of our Constitution; “every human being has the right to life from birth.

The right to life, which ranks first in terms of value among human rights, is the reason for the existence of all other rights.

The state is obliged to respect this right and is tasked with protecting it effectively.

The right to life has special importance for convicts, detainees, and persons in custody.

Because these individuals are under the control and supervision of the state."

The conversation between Pehlivan and Yıldız:

What does your message mean?

I am not making this statement for the first time; I have done so in past years as well.

Is this formula being considered for Öcalan?

No, no, did that issue exist two years ago? I was saying it then too. I am talking about universal law...

Can Öcalan benefit from this right for sick prisoners?

There is one condition for Öcalan to benefit from this, and that is a report from the Council of Forensic Medicine stating that he is unable to meet his own needs. When this report exists, both Ahmet and Mehmet can benefit from it.

Is Turkey heading toward a general amnesty after your latest message?

What I said has nothing to do with that debate; it is not a statement I made with the intention of a general amnesty.

Could there be a general amnesty?

No, the conditions for a general amnesty do not exist in Turkey... That is the story of that tweet... At least 100 relatives of prisoners call me every day...

Prisons are over capacity, what will happen to those people?

I have voiced this; it is all in the parliamentary records. We want the requirements of universal law to be fulfilled, that is all!

After sharing the details of his conversation with MHP's Yıldız, Barış Pehlivan shared the following information he received from Presidential sources:

The Presidential front said that the marriage allegations were false.

To my question, 'Why don't we see Erdoğan more often?', they said, "Mr. Erdoğan uses his title as President in this matter," but added, "However, we will have the final say again."

They said, "We are not sure what kind of impact Öcalan's words will have in Qandil and the PKK."

To my question about whether there is a preparation for a general amnesty, they replied: "If there were an amnesty preparation in Turkey, rest assured that when journalists call us, what we will say is determined in advance; as of today, there is no such preparation."
