'Mid-term break' congestion in Istanbul traffic
Traffic congestion occurred on the Yenibosna E-5 Highway in Istanbul on the last workday of the week as schools closed and the mid-term break began.
On the last workday of the week, traffic congestion occurred on the Yenibosna E-5 Highway as the 9-day mid-term break for the 2024-2025 academic year began.
Due to school buses returning home for the break combined with evening rush hour, traffic occasionally came to a standstill.
According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's traffic density map, traffic congestion was measured at 76 percent as of 18:00.
