Midibus carrying police officers on duty overturns
In the Dörtyol district of Hatay, 25 police officers were slightly injured in a traffic accident that occurred when the midibus carrying police teams on duty overturned.
The accident occurred on the D91 highway between Payas and Dörtyol. The midibus, which was carrying police teams heading to the Antakya district for duty on the anniversary of the earthquake, overturned into a ditch.
According to initial reports, 10 police officers were injured in the accident.
In a written statement regarding the accident, the Hatay Governor's Office stated: "While our personnel serving within the Hatay Provincial Police Department's Dörtyol District Riot Police Group Command were traveling to the city center for the February 6th security measures duty, the shuttle vehicle carrying 25 of our personnel overturned into a ditch as a result of a single-vehicle accident in front of the Dörtyol MMK (factory) location; our personnel were slightly injured and are not in life-threatening condition."
