According to information reported by T24, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya signed the appointment decree after returning to Ankara from his inspection tours in the East and Southeast.

As part of the appointments within the ministry, Erkin Adalar, the Istanbul Regional Head of the Inspection Board, was brought in to replace İsmail Dalkılıç, who had been the Head of the Inspection Board since July 2023.

The fact that Adalar began his duties the same night following the change in position drew attention as an unusual occurrence within the police organization. Adalar, who served in Istanbul for a long time, played an active role in the investigations against FETÖ following the December 17-25 operations. He later served as Deputy Chief of the Istanbul Police Department and subsequently served briefly as the Kırklareli Chief of Police. However, he was dismissed by Süleyman Soylu in 2019.

Adalar, who came to the fore again after Ali Yerlikaya became Minister of Interior, was first appointed as the Istanbul Regional Head of the Inspection Board and has now been assigned as the Head of the Inspection Board.
