Military vehicle overturns in Malatya: 1 First Lieutenant martyred, 1 soldier injured
A military vehicle overturned in the Akçadağ district of Malatya, resulting in the martyrdom of one first lieutenant and injuries to one soldier.
The accident occurred around noon on the Malatya-Kayseri highway in the Develi locality of the Akçadağ district.
According to the information obtained, the military vehicle in motion lost control after the driver lost steering control and overturned. Two soldiers in the vehicle were injured in the accident.
Upon notification, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured soldiers were taken to the Akçadağ Martyr Gökhan Aslan State Hospital after receiving initial intervention at the scene.
One of the soldiers, 28-year-old Air Defense First Lieutenant Tuğrul Özsu, could not be saved despite all interventions and was martyred.
It was learned that the body of the martyred First Lieutenant Özsu was taken to the forensic medicine institution for autopsy procedures, and after the procedures there, it will be sent to his hometown of Edirne tomorrow morning.
It was reported that the treatment of the other injured soldier is continuing at the Malatya Training and Research Hospital.
