Milk tanker and truck collide in Konya: 2 dead
A tragic traffic accident occurred in Konya when a milk tanker and a truck collided. The incident took place at the 37th kilometer of the Konya-Istanbul highway. The milk tanker driven by 25-year-old Recep S. collided with a truck driven by 38-year-old Hamit B., who was coming from the opposite direction. Both drivers lost their lives at the scene due to the impact of the collision. As a result of the accident, kilometers of vehicle queues formed on the road, and traffic began to be provided in a controlled manner from a single lane. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The incident occurred when the milk tanker with license plate 42 ASH 729, driven by 25-year-old Recep S., collided with the truck with license plate 42 DSB 36, driven by Hamit B. (38), who was coming from the opposite direction at the 37th kilometer of the Konya-Istanbul highway.
Upon notification, 112 Emergency Health, police, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident.
The bodies of the drivers, who were determined by health personnel to have died at the scene, were taken to the hospital morgue.
Kilometers of vehicle queues formed on the road, which was closed to traffic flow due to the accident.
After a while, traffic began to be provided in a controlled manner from a single lane.
