Minister Fidan: It is an indicator of the trust placed in our President
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated, "The fact that all allies participated in this historic summit at the leader level is an indicator of the trust placed in our country and our President."
Following the conclusion of the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government, Minister Fidan shared the following on his social media account: "The NATO Summit, which we hosted in Ankara on July 7-8, 2026, has been successfully completed.
The fact that all Allies participated in this historic Summit at the leader level is an indicator of the trust placed in our country and our President. At the Summit, held during a critical period when intense discussions regarding NATO's transformation are ongoing, important issues on the Euro-Atlantic security agenda were addressed comprehensively.
Within the framework of the NATO 3.0 vision, the foundations for a stronger Europe within a stronger NATO were laid. We express our gratitude to our President for his strategic vision and strong leadership, which enabled our country to host a NATO Summit again after 22 years.
We thank NATO Secretary General Rutte, with whom we worked closely during the preparations for the Summit, and the Foreign Ministers of the Allied countries. We hope that the NATO Ankara Summit will be beneficial for the peace and security of our country and all our Allies," he stated.
