Minister Fidan: It is important that it proceeds without any mishaps
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made statements regarding the agreement process during a joint press conference with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.
Highlights from Minister Fidan's statements are as follows:
"Oil shipments from Iraq have resumed. The first phase of the peace plan in Gaza has been completed. It is important that there is no provocation from Israel. These were the points reached as a result of the negotiations.
Hopefully, its implementation without any accidents or trouble, the start of humanitarian aid entering during this time, the return of displaced persons to their homes, and the withdrawal of Israeli troops back to the agreed-upon locations marked on the map constitute the main articles of the first-phase plan. The realization of this is extremely important.
WILL PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Now, what can we do as the international community? There are two issues we are focusing on here. First, it is important that this agreed-upon deal proceeds without any mishaps.
In particular, there must be no provocation from Israel, and there must be no issues that would restart the war, continue the genocide, or continue the displacement.
At this point, as Turkey, while we provide technical support for the implementation of the agreement on the ground, we are also continuing to raise awareness at a global strategic level and mobilize international diplomatic efforts toward this end. Our efforts in this direction are extremely important."
