Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that the "Transportation Support" program, implemented to cover the transportation expenses of students in households receiving social assistance, will continue during the 2024-2025 academic year.
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that the "Transportation Support" program, implemented to cover the transportation expenses of students in households receiving social assistance, will continue during the 2024-2025 academic year.
Minister Göktaş stated that they provide support for students' round-trip transportation expenses four times a year and noted the following:
'UPPER LIMIT AMOUNT IS 1250 TL FOR ONE WAY'
"We continue to take all necessary measures to ensure that our students, who are the guarantee of our future, can continue their education more comfortably. In this context, the Transportation Support we implemented to cover the transportation expenses of students in households receiving social assistance will continue in the 2024-2025 academic year. While the upper limit of the support we will provide to our students is 1250 Turkish Lira for one way, we have transferred approximately 60.8 million lira in resources to our Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations so far."
Göktaş reminded that applications for the support program must be made by the student or the student's family to the relevant Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation located at the family's place of residence.
