Minister Gürlek announced: 500 million lira worth of cocaine seized
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that 106 kilograms of cocaine with a market value of 500 million lira have been seized in Turkey.
In a post on his social media account, Minister Gürlek stated, "Under the coordination of our Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and through the effective cooperation of our Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, our Coast Guard Command, and our National Intelligence Organization (MİT), a major blow has been dealt to international drug trafficking.
The 106 kg of cocaine, which was seized on a Panama-flagged ship and has a market value of approximately 500 million lira, was prevented from reaching our streets thanks to a successful operation conducted through the strong coordination of our state.

In line with our principle of 'Zero Tolerance Against Poison Dealers,' which our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has put forward with his strong will, we are determined to cleanse our streets of this scourge and to root out the drug barons.
I would like to thank our Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, our Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, our Coast Guard Command, our MİT Presidency, and all our public officials who contributed to this successful operation. We will make the world a living hell for poison dealers," he said.
