Minister Işıkhan announces the 5 most indebted CHP municipalities

In yesterday's AKP Group Meeting, Erdoğan called on CHP-run municipalities to pay their debts to the Social Security Institution (SGK) and announced that the municipalities' debts would be collected by the ministry.

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER IŞIKHAN

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan shared a post on his social media account regarding the issue, announcing the 5 most indebted CHP-run municipalities. Minister Işıkhan's statements are as follows;

"We need to convey some facts regarding the premium debts of municipalities to the SGK to our dear nation and correct the misinformation put forward by some CHP officials. All of the 5 municipalities with the highest premium debt to the SGK are CHP-run municipalities. This reality was the same before the local elections.

We had also expressed this in the statement we made before the elections. The total premium debt of municipalities to the SGK across Turkey has reached 96 billion TL. 67.7% of these debts belong solely to CHP-run municipalities.

"THERE IS NO BENEFIT IN CREATING CONFUSION"

The debt of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which has the highest premium debt to the SGK, is 5 billion 751 million TL.

When it took over the municipality from the AKP in 2019, the debt was 225 million TL, whereas as of today, it has increased 25.5 times.

Therefore, there is no benefit to anyone in trying to create confusion by saying 'the election has passed' or trying to deceive our dear nation with lies.

THEY MUST PAY THE INSURANCE PREMIUMS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Our advice to CHP mayors is that they should pay the insurance premiums, which are the right of the workers' sweat, as soon as possible. We need to share the issue not through political party competition or demagoguery, but by telling only the facts through data and figures.
