Minister Işıkhan makes statement regarding the Minimum Wage Determination Commission: When will the new wage be set?

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan made important statements regarding the social security system and the minimum wage.

WILL THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM CHANGE?

Işıkhan stated that the regulations to be made within the framework of the Medium-Term Program aim to increase the welfare of the nation. Expressing that as the AKP, they have carried out significant reform efforts in the social security system, Işıkhan said, "SSK, Bağ-Kur, and the Retirement Fund (Emekli Sandığı) were merged under a single roof.

This is one of the very important steps. We do not currently foresee any changes to our retirement system. However, we will continue our work by taking into account all kinds of evaluations that come to us in dimensions that will improve the retirement system," he stated.

He said that all kinds of evaluations would be taken into consideration to move the system to a better point. He added that they want to protect the existing rights of retirees and establish a fairer system.

WHEN WILL THE COMMISSION CONVENE?

Stating that the minimum wage is a wage that determines the lowest pay in our country and the world, Işıkhan noted that this is an important issue that affects employees and, indirectly, their families.

Emphasizing that the minimum wage is not an issue determined solely by the government, Işıkhan announced that the Minimum Wage Determination Commission will begin its work in the first week of December. Işıkhan said, "The minimum wage is not an issue that we, as the government, determine on our own.

The Minimum Wage Determination Commission will begin its work in the first week of December. We have to finalize and publish it in the Official Gazette within a certain time frame, by December 31. We will have the opportunity to share it with the public in December," he said.
