In a post on his social media account regarding the visit, Kurum stated that he received Tugay and Saygılı at the ministry.
Stating that they discussed the results of the important meeting they held last week in İzmir with scientists and representatives of non-governmental organizations regarding the Gulf of İzmir, Kurum noted the following:
"We evaluated the findings of our ministry and our scientists. We reminded local governments of their responsibilities in this matter. Our scientists are drawing up the roadmap that our local governments will implement for the cleaning of the Gulf of İzmir. As a ministry, while consulting with local governments, we will also be the followers of the steps that need to be taken."
