Minister Şimşek announces tax exemptions for tips and motorcycle couriers

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek has announced that exemptions will be introduced for motorcycle couriers and waiters.

Minister Şimşek stated that there is no new tax on motorcycle courier income or waiters' tips, and included the following remarks:

"We are simplifying the taxation of motorcycle courier activities and tip income. With this regulation, commercial earnings arising from motorcycle courier activities will be taxed under the simplified procedure, and tip income will not be associated with regular wage income and will not be subject to VAT as it will be shown separately from the service fee." he said.
