Minister Şimşek denies AJet allegations
Journalist Fatih Altaylı claimed that AJet, a brand of Turkish Airlines, canceled the tickets of other passengers at the last minute for the wife and children of a minister. It was alleged that this minister was Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek. Both Şimşek and AJet have denied the allegations in question.
In a statement regarding Altaylı's claim, AJet stated the following: "It is understood that untrue allegations targeting one of our Ministers and his family have been voiced on various social media platforms and news sites using our company's name.
We respectfully inform the public that the written allegations are untrue and that all legal avenues will be pursued."
MINISTER ŞİMŞEK: I CONDEMN IT
Minister of Treasury and Finance Şimşek also shared AJet's statement on his social media account, adding the note: "I strongly condemn the insinuations and accusations made against my family with this untrue and denied news report."
