Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated in a post on his social media account, "Following the footage shared on social media regarding a cat being cruelly kicked to death in Başakşehir, Istanbul, a judicial investigation has been immediately launched by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the scope of the Animal Protection Law No. 5199.
The suspect has been apprehended and taken into custody, and judicial proceedings regarding the act of violence are being carried out meticulously.
These images of violence are unacceptable both in terms of conscience and law.
Violence against animals will never go unpunished," he said.
