Minister Tunç: Claims that the CHP bus driver was requested to be arrested are a lie

Minister Tunç, in a statement on his social media account, said, "The claims in some media outlets and social media accounts that 'an arrest was requested for the CHP bus driver because he took deputies to the 1st Parliament on April 23' are a big lie.

An investigation was launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the driver of the CHP bus for 'failing to comply with the stop warning of on-duty police officers and driving the bus toward the police,' and a judicial control measure of 'house arrest' was imposed by the Duty Magistrate Judge for the crime of 'resisting a public officer in a chain manner'."

Minister Tunç stated, "As can be understood from the footage, driving a political party's bus does not give anyone the right to drive a vehicle toward a police officer, fail to comply with a stop warning, or endanger public order. Defending an act that puts the life of our police, who serve for the peace and security of our nation, at risk with a slander such as 'a worker is being arrested on May 1' is unacceptable both legally and conscientiously.

Engaging in disinformation and misleading the public through an ongoing investigation, especially by some CHP deputies, serves not the law but chaos on May 1 Labor and Solidarity Day.

It is clear that the goal of those who resort to lies and slander by using our fellow workers is not labor and solidarity, but provocation.

On this occasion, I convey my best wishes for a speedy recovery to our on-duty police officer," he said.
