Minister Tunç: Investigation launched into individual who slapped foreign national child
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into a suspect who physically assaulted a foreign national child selling items on the metro in Istanbul.
Minister Tunç stated in a post on his social media account: "An investigation has been launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the suspect who physically assaulted a foreign national child selling items on the metro in Istanbul.
Efforts to identify and apprehend the suspect are ongoing. The investigation is being conducted meticulously.
Regardless of the reason, physical violence against a child, who is the symbol of innocence, can never be accepted. Xenophobia and racism, regardless of race, color, religion, or language, are absolutely incompatible with our values.
It should not be forgotten that if a child smiles, the world smiles. If a child cries, consciences cry, the world cries" he said.
