Minister Tunç: We have completed the appointment of 621 judges and public prosecutors

In a post on his social media account, Minister of Justice Tunç stated, "As the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, we have published the 2025 Judicial and Administrative Judiciary Excuse and Permanent Authority Decrees. With the Excuse Decree, we have completed the appointment of 621 judges and public prosecutors.

We have made 1,840 permanent authority arrangements. In regional courts of justice, we have appointed 115 member judges. We have put a total of 17 new chambers into operation, including 12 criminal chambers and 5 civil chambers. Thus, we have significantly increased the capacity of the appellate judiciary.

We have decided to put the Beyşehir, Erbaa, Kâhta, and Merzifon High Criminal Courts into operation as of January 2, 2026. By ending the practice of split courts, we have made 319 courts independent and, together with the 85 new courts we have established, we have put 404 courts into operation," he said.

Reporting on developments in the administrative judiciary as well, Minister Tunç stated in his post, "In the administrative judiciary, we have completed the appointment of 219 judges. We have put the Diyarbakır, Kayseri, and Antalya Regional Administrative Courts into operation. We have put new Administrative and Tax Courts into operation in Bingöl, Amasya, Hakkâri, and Şırnak.

I wish our judges and public prosecutors, who perform their duties by adhering to the principles of impartiality and independence without ever deviating from the rule of law, great success in their new posts. I hope that the 2025 Judicial and Administrative Judiciary Excuse and Permanent Authority Decrees will be beneficial for our judges and prosecutors, their families, our judicial organization, our country, and our dear nation," he added.
