Minister Tunç's 'pirated' reaction to Özgür Özel's 'Expert Report': 'Has no validity'

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel shared the preliminary expert report regarding the fire disaster in Bolu Kartalkaya, in which 78 citizens lost their lives.

The report identified the "Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Bolu Special Provincial Administration, Bolu Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, and the hotel management" as 'responsible'. 

Özgür Özel stated, "I am receiving reports that the expert committee will be dismissed from their duties."

The preliminary expert report regarding the fire disaster at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, where 78 people lost their lives, has emerged.

According to the report shared by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, the "Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Bolu Special Provincial Administration, Bolu Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, hotel management, and the architects and engineers responsible for fire systems and renovations, as well as the building inspection and management officials in charge of maintenance, repair, and supervision" were identified as 'responsible'.

The report found the "hotel owner, building contractor firms, individuals involved in the hotel's design, implementation, and supervision, the individuals and firms responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of electrical and mechanical systems, the authorities authorized to issue building permits, the company insuring the structure, the occupational health and safety specialist, and the employer" to be 'at fault'.

"I AM WARNING ABOUT THE SIN AND THE CRIME"

Özgür Özel noted that the name of the Bolu Municipality was not mentioned in the report and said the following:

"I am receiving reports that pressure is being put on the 7-member committee whose names are known and who prepared this preliminary report—which does not mention our Bolu Municipality, determines that the fire started on the 4th floor of the hotel, and lists the responsible and at-fault parties one by one—and that the report has not been accepted, and even that the expert committee will be dismissed from their duties.

I am sharing 3 relevant pages of the report, which we have in its entirety, with the public. I am warning the government, especially the 2 relevant ministers, about this historic mistake, the sin, and the crime."
